Our Wine

OUR WINE

Ancient, Traditional Portuguese Grapes

AUNE LOHMANN WINE

We wish to let our vines develop as natural and with little human interferences as possible.

Our vineyards are not watered and for all our work, in the cellar and for our house we use only water from our natural water reservoir.

Our grapes and vineyards only get natural fertilizer from the sheeps of our local shepherd.

We never use pesticides and treat the fields manually, if we need to remove weeds and clean the rows.

Our philosophy is to support insects and bio diversity - even if our harvest is less as a result.

We do not use products with animal base for stabilisation, such as egg- and proteins - our wines are vegan.

We use as little sulphur as we can to avoid oxidation in the process and like it is usual in bio-production.

Fermentation is done in open lagars, often the whole bunch, uncrushed and foot-pressed.

Storage is in 230 liter French oak barrels (or without) and in steel tanks.

All our wines are biodynamic, organic and vegan - in the vineyard and cellar.

We produce carefully made natural White, Red, Rosé and Orangewines.

ORANGE AND NATURAL Branco

Since the beginning we produce wine in the old way and style.

Unfiltered, "Nothing added, nothing removed" by preserving the full taste and colour.

Around 2011 natural wine were not very popular, but we courageously continued, because we are convinced that natural wines are the future - the real art of making wine.

We can offer some last bottles of our Branco Natural 2015 - such a wonderful deep wine, with a Sherry-like full taste. And since 2021 we make "Orange" Wine !! This wine is made of ancient Portuguese grapes from 80-100 old vines. Started as experiment and we love it.
